FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boys & Girls Club of Wake County Announces 2025 Youth of the Year Winners

Raleigh, NC – February 17, 2025 – The Boys & Girls Club of Wake County is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Youth of the Year program, our premier youth recognition initiative. This program celebrates the outstanding achievements of our older Club members, recognizing their leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle.

This year, we are thrilled to honor Zion from the Zebulon Boys & Girls Club as the Organizational Youth of the Year. Zion's remarkable journey and contributions to the community have earned her this prestigious title. She will now represent our organization in the statewide competition this spring.

In the Organizational Futures Division, we are proud to recognize Dominick from the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club. Dominick's enthusiasm and commitment to personal growth have set a shining example for his peers.

We also want to acknowledge our Club Level Winners:

Futures Division:
  • Athena from the Raleigh Girls Club
  • Elijah from the Raleigh Boys Club
  • Kimiyah from The Club – Teen Center
  • Diego from Brentwood Boys & Girls Clubs
  • Leah from Zebulon Boys & Girls Clubs

Youth of the Year:
  • Ellison from Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club
  • Itu from The Club – Teen Center
  • Angela from Brentwood Boys & Girls Club

Each of these participants has worked incredibly hard to share their stories, aspirations, and the impact the Club has had on their lives. Their dedication and resilience are truly inspiring.

The Youth of the Year program recognizes members on two levels: the Youth of the Year division for high school juniors and seniors, and the Futures Division for younger members (middle school through 10th grade). Finalists from the first round of judging advance to a second round of interviews to select our organization's Youth of the Year. The organization winner then participates in a statewide competition, with state winners moving on to regional competitions. Five regional winners will compete for the national title in the fall. The National Youth of the Year receives a scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is honored by the President of the United States in a ceremony at the White House.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our winners and participants.
