Wake Transit: Moving us all forward

WakeUP Wake County is hosting a major community forum, Wake Transit: Moving us all forward,Monday, June 20, 7 – 8:45 pm at the Raleigh Convention Center, featuring U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx as our keynote speaker! THIS is the YEAR to advance public transit in Wake County, so we are hosting this forum to educate the public about the final Wake transit plan and to highlight the many benefits of transit for our community. Thanks to sponsorships from supporting non-profits and businesses, the forum is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so we strongly encourage you to register online at www.wakeupwakecounty.org. While the forum is free, WakeUP is also hosting a special pre-reception 5:30-6:30pm in support of WakeUP’s public education efforts about transit (at the Raleigh Convention Center too). Tickets may be purchased at www.wakeupwakecounty.org, along with registration for the free forum. Because we want to engage as many residents of Wake County as possible, we invite you to share this invite with others. The Wake Board of Commissioners will soon vote on the transit plan and are expected to place the half-cent sales tax referendum on the November ballot. We are moving Wake forward!
