Demetria John brings 25 years of experience and innovation to the forefront of affordable housing development. As an energetic leader, she's known for her remarkable ability to envision and create successful outcomes. Her track record includes:

✅ Leading a complete agency reorganization while serving as the President and CEO of a large PHA.
✅ Collaborating with community partners to reduce homelessness.
✅ Spearheading affordable housing development activities at a large PHA and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

In January 2023, Demetria joined the Town of Apex as Assistant Town Manager, bringing her wealth of knowledge to local government. She holds a B.S. in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Southern Mississippi and attended Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Executive Program. Her dedication to affordable housing has earned her numerous awards, including recognition by Glamour Magazine as one of the "50 Phenomenal Women Making a Difference."

When she's not shaping the future of housing, Demetria enjoys spending time with her family, including her three sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren. She's also an avid traveler, kayaker, hiker, and road trip enthusiast, accompanied by her faithful miniature poodle, Sacha Boy.
