Zebulon Boys & Girls Club
Although the Zebulon Club has been closed to Club Members since March 20th, we have still been doing everything we can to support our members, their families and the community. I laid off all of my part-time staff through in-person conversations or personal phone calls on March 17th. I am pleased to report that I have since spoken with them, and both their families and themselves are happy and healthy (if not bored at home). Several of them are still working and most others have been able to apply for unemployment. Since March 20th we have stayed connected with members who attended the Club at least once in January or February. We have also planned out tons of fun activity days and field trips for the Summer of 2020 (including another fun water day and Field Day at the Club). Over the past two weeks I have been in contact with Club Members and dropping off supplies they need during this difficult time. These supplies vary between snacks, meals, school supplies, free laptops to keep, community resources, virtual programming and access to the internet. Since Tuesday, April 14th, we have been assisting the Wake County School system by dropping off 180 meals each day to the neighborhoods surrounding Zebulon Middle School, Shepard Greene apt complex and Shannon Drive Housing Authority. Please let me know if you have any questions for me or if there is anything that I can do to help in these trying times.
