Want Some Free Money?

June 18, 2020
There is $1.5 BILLION in grants available from the U.S. EDA.
Are you ready to get some of it?

What are you doing next Wednesday (6/24) at 1pm ET? Join Harold Pettigrew, CEO of the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (WACIF), and Mirielle Burgoyne, Director of Government Relations at the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), and me to talk about how to apply for this FREE bucket of funding from the U.S. EDA!

This funding was announced in mid-May, but is getting little coverage because so few people understand how to apply for EDA grants.

But every local government, non-profit, and university working on economic development can apply.

EDA funding can be used to support small businesses, infrastructure for them, incubators, and all sorts of other local economic needs (including makerspaces and commercial shared kitchens!!!!).

This funding can also be part of our commitment to address the systemic racism inherent in some (many) old economic development approaches.

Let's use this grant to change how we do local economic development and do a better job supporting Black-owned businesses and other business owners of color.

Register today and share it with all of your favorite local economic development leaders!

I hope to see you there!

Like our other RC zooms, this will be a discussion. No more webinars!

Mirielle will give folks a plain-english explanation about how to go after this funding and Harold will talk about specific project examples that you can use in your community based on his work at WACIF. And then we will answer questions, talk about other project ideas, and start to figure this out together.

See you there!
