Supporting you throughout the crisis and beyond

The signs of progress around us are encouraging. Some communities are relaxing certain restrictions and many workplaces are beginning to reopen. But we understand many of our business customers continue to face significant economic hardships that will not resolve quickly or easily.

That’s why we still are not disconnecting service for those who find themselves behind on their bills. While we continue to encourage our customers to pay what they can now to avoid building up a large balance that could be difficult to manage later, we remain committed to supporting those most impacted as our areas gradually begin a return to normal. Extended payment arrangements will be offered to businesses that require more time to bring their balances current.

We also realize not all businesses are benefiting immediately from the phased approach being implemented; so, we have added energy recommendations for companies that remain closed. You will also find other useful information that can help with recovery under the Business Resources section at dukeenergyupdates.com. We will continue to update this section of our COVID-19 response as we have additional information.

To provide assistance across our communities, the Duke Energy Foundation has made a variety of donations in each of the states we serve to help support local charitable organizations, giving them the flexibility to use funding to address the immediate needs in their community and assist with general operating expenses incurred during the pandemic. Many of these donations have been given to organizations that specifically support local businesses.

We know the needs are great for many businesses across a number of industries, and we will continue to look for ways we can support our customers and communities throughout this crisis.
