Chamber DMV News

April 20, 2018
A community poised for growth. That’s how Zebulon is being described. The Chamber of Commerce has been preparing for this growth by strengthening member relationships and furthering economic development initiatives through our partnership with the Town.
Our current facility limits our ability to meet the needs of both the Chamber and the DMV, and we recognize the lack of adequate parking and lobby space to serve our customers and members.
The confines of space presented us with the opportunity to look at our options and evaluate our mission. In order to better serve our key stakeholders and provide a focused return on investment to our members, the Board has made the decision to let go of the DMV contract.
It has been an honor for the Chamber to manage the DMV office as a service to our community.
We realize that our customers, dealers and the general public will be impacted by this decision.
We strive to provide the highest level of service, and with limited resources we feel we cannot offer the level of service both entities deserve.
As an organization designed to further the mission of commercial, industrial and civic development, the Chamber believes the next step is to pass the baton to another entity that can make the DMV their dedicated mission.
We will be working with DOT to facilitate a smooth transition. As we take this next step, an opportunity exists for business-minded persons in our community to pursue the contract with DOT.
The talented staff members who are currently serving or have served in the past are most deserving of our thanks. The Board of Directors is grateful for their hours of dedication and their commitment to the organization.
Feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns.
