Baxter's Bees Rebuilding Hives
The New Year always holds so much excitement and possibility but it's been a rough few days here at Baxter's Bees. In a blink of an eye, we have lost most of our bees to vandalism.
This has left us gutted and forlorn. We love our bees profoundly and the life we have been able to build for ourselves because of them; visiting schools, speaking to clubs and organizations, and teaching folks as much as we can about the importance of honey bees. Losing all but 6 of our hives has put our business and our family in a very precarious position, so close to losing everything we have built over the past seven years.
We have filed a police report and have had our local ag agent out to inspect our hives, but without any leads, it is unlikely we will find whomever vandalized our apiary. If you would like to help, there are ways you can. If you have any information, please call the Wake County Sheriff's department. In addition, a dear friend has set up a Go Fund Me page in hopes of raising enough to help get us back on our feet. Donate if there is room in your budget, share if there is room in your feed, and keep us in your thoughts as we push forward. www.baxtersbees.com
